Gail Mack

Gail started her career with the Honolulu based trio, George Street, in 1980. During those 20 years, the group recorded 5 studio albums and 2 live taped recordings. Gail recorded her first solo album, Pacific Snowbird, in 1996, and her Hoku Award nominated solo christmas album, Christmas Once more in Hawaii Nei, in 2006.

Lance Luke

Lance started playing bass in high school with two different music groups, a dance band, and an acoustic guitar group. He continued playing in different groups through the years and then became a studio musician. After 43 years he finally recorded his first CD of original music, Alewa Blue Sky Music. His CD was released in 2019 at a sold-out concert.

Keith Hiraoka

Keith started playing bass for the Highlands Intermediate School concert and stage bands, where he learned to read music from Mr. Leong. He continued playing in the Pearl City High School band.

In addition to Kolea, he's a member of the Thursday Night Big Band.

Bobby Nishida

Bobby Nishida is a veteran Honolulu musician and guitarist who has been part of Hawaiʻi’s local music scene for many years. He has performed with well-known island entertainers including Frank De Lima and Loyal Garner, and has also led performances with the Bobby Nishida Trio.

In addition to Kolea, Bobby has been connected with Goodguys Music and Sound in Kapahulu for over two decades, where he continues to support Hawaiʻi’s musician community.

HISTORY

Kolea, featuring Gail Mack's vocals, Lance Luke on guitar and vocals, and Keith Hiraoka on bass, have harmonized their talents in various ensembles since 2000. As a trio, they now offer a repertoire that showcases Lance's jazz virtuoso guitar styling, Gail's mellow and soothing vocals with a focus on jazz standards, and Keith's adept bass accompaniment, together delivering a timeless selection of popular songs from the 1940s to contemporary hits.
